HOPE & HEALING

FEBRUARY 15, 2023

Hope and Optimism are similiar in nature. Often confused with Positivity,

Hope: A feeling of expectation or desire for a certain thing to happen; a feeling of trust

Optimism: Hopefulness and Confidence about the future or the succesful outcome of something.

Positivity: The practice of being or tendency to be positive or optimistic in attitude.

Hope is a feeling. To have hope optimisim is a must. Positivity is always a plus. Notice the hopefulness and Confidence. This is the recipie for a succesful outcome/future. Both hope and optimisim are mindsets. Ways of thinking and seeing things. Obviously being to narrow minded can cause danger. You must be realistic and constantly check yourself. A positive attitude, hope and optimism are healthy but nothing good comes from overendulgence of anything. The Pro’s list outweighs any negatives. All three have been proven to ensure you live longer, gives you a better immune system (allowing you to fight off illnesses keeping you healthier), allows you to have thriving relationships, you enjoy your time more and the feel better about how you spend it and the best part, less stress. http://www.goodtherapy.org (article title : optimisim) states there are four types of optimisim.

  • Comparable Optimism: A person who tends to believe they are more likely than others to experience positive events.
  • Nihilistic Optimisim: Also reffered to as Optimistic Nihilism; meaningless. Those who subscribe to this belief find hope in nihilism or the idea that life has no intrinsic; essential meaning
  • Unrealistic Optimisim: Unrealistic Optimisim can be contrasted with healthy optomisim. While healthy optimisim may cause a person to take a beneficial amount of risk, unrealistic optimism may cause a person to greatly overestimate facts in their favor, leading them to make potentially unsafe decisions not based in reality.
  • Philosophical Optimism: The opposite of Philisophical Pessimism, philosophical optimism is the belief that the present moment is the best of all possible outcomes. Many connect this idea to the philospher Gotfried Wilhelm Leibniz, who is known for his Principle of the Best (among other things) or the idea that all things happen for the best.

No matter what you use to allow yourself to be hopeful, optomistic and constantly seeking the positive the end result is the same. Who doesn’t want that time to be filled with happy moments, love and laughter? Optimism is learned. A good example and guide is the book ” The Power Of Positive Thinking ” . An international bestseller. #33 in Motivational Self Help (books). It will leave you believing in yourself and what you do. Gives you the ability to reach your goals and assume control over your circumstances. Most important you will learn how to be kind to yourself.
